Feedweb Gives you Superpowers

Jan 20

There are over 28,000 plugins, some of which have not been checked for compatibility on 3.8, and so many (really way too many) that have not been updated in more than a year! WordPress want to give us the power to choose what we do and don’t install, but it seems that keeping plugins available after they have not been updated in at least 6 months seems a bit irrational. Also, everyone know that version 3.8 has been released, so what’s the hold up of certain plugins not releasing proper updates for it?

What I want to bring to your attention is that there is are a lot of plugins available. That you know. What’s important is installing the most secure and “light” ones, and avoiding anything that may cause even the slightest harm to the site. How many plugins should a site have? It’s an endless debate…

So now to Feedweb (and self promotion): It has already been tested and updated for 3.8. It  gets an update every week and a half or so, and we add features that readers ask for. If you don’t know, there is “+” on the bottom right corner of the widget (see below) that lets voters and readers share the post on social media (2 for 1 plugin).  So, what could possibly lead someone to not using Feedweb? First of all, anyone who is not familiar with the plugin is at a disadvantage (but we’ll change that in the coming months), and of course there are those that feat the amount of time that their site will take to load. Feedweb won’t affect the time in any way that a reader can judge the difference. A fast site will continue to be fast, and a slow one will continue to be “slow”.

  1. Hi Amiti,

This plug in looks fantastic. I’ve heard of it but didn’t know much about it until NOW!

  2. Hey Amiti,

I’m glad you’re staying on top of the updates. Of course when you have one that people have to purchase then I think the developers should stay on top of that. Unfortunately they don’t all do that because I had one that I really liked but even though it cost me money they still abandoned it and it no longer worked well. What a shame.

Best of luck to you with your plugin and have a great week.

    • Hi Adrienne,

It is a problem that I do think WP should try to solve to make the platform more effective and efficient. You have a great weekend and week ahead!

    • Hi Charlotte, the plugin is used on a Freemium basis. You can use it for free with very few limitations (depending on the size of your audience).
See the prices in “license” once you install the plugin.
